🧘 Menopause workshops
Menopause, a natural phase in a woman’s life, can bring physical and emotional challenges. Staying informed and embracing self-care can make the menopause transition smoother and improve overall wellbeing.
Medway South PCN, in collaboration with Public Health Medway, has started to host educational and interactive menopause workshops, running for 90 minutes over two days, in which we explain the most common symptoms and how to ease these by maintaining a healthy lifestyle for optimal bone, heart and brain health. There is also a GP present in one of the sessions to talk about and answer any questions around HRT.
Our next workshop is scheduled for:
Tuesdays 7th November – 12.30pm to 2pm
Tuesday 14th November – 12.30pm to 2pm
Location: Lordswood Healthy Living Centre
To book a place at this or future workshops, email your details (including your GP surgery) to:
[email protected].
Please note that these sessions are open to Medway South PCN patients only (Reach Healthcare, The Churchill Clinic, Matrix Medical Practice, King George Road Surgery, Stonecross and Westdrive Surgery).

🍏 Boost your immunity this Autumn / Winter
The colder months are drawing in, so boosting your immunity is important to stay healthy.
Here’s what can support your body’s natural defences against seasonal illnesses:
- a balanced diet rich in veg and fruit (‘tis the season of soups and stews)
- adding more immune-boosting foods like garlic, ginger, and citrus fruits to your diet
- staying hydrated (herbal teas have the added benefit of keeping you warm)
- getting enough sleep
- being physically active
- managing stress
- staying warm
If you are at higher risk of getting seriously ill from seasonal flu or Covid-19, it’s important to get a jab. Visit https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/seasonal-health/keep-warm-keep-well/ to check your eligibility and find out ways to book the vaccine.
